Rules and Guidelines
Show respect and follow the rules given by the admins and moderators.
No advertising outside of the designated area under the General category
Do not plagiarize.
Try to keep outside affairs out of the Cbox and posting area. If you have a problem with a certain member, keep it to PMs or alert an admin/mod with your problem, within reason. Don't start flaming other people because you hate their cat.
Respect other member’s property.
Try not to double post. Use the Modify button.
Try and break out of your comfort zone. We're all friends here.
Canon characters are strictly forbidden. Use your creativity, this goes along with the plagiarizing rule.
Your character may never start out with a preset team of Pokémon or items.
You can have as many characters as you want, but if it gets to a point where you have tons of them but some or all are inactive, you will be warned. After a warning, they will be taken down.
Avoid making Mary Sues. Nobody's perfect, and it kind of makes you look like a jerk.
Only authorized persons may accept/deny character applications.
Once a character has been accepted, post a link to their forum post in your signature. Don't do so before they've been accepted.
Pokémorphs are allowed, within reason. You can't have a Charizard morph that kills people with his or her massive Blast Burn attack. You can have a Charizard morph that exhales small bits of flame when angered.
No legendary Pokémorphs.
All IC posts must be at least 100 words.
Abilities are recognized in Tarun, but it must be stated whether or not an ability activates. Pikachu's static has no affect two posts after contact occurs if it doesn't paralyze then.
Proof of ownership on all Pokémon must be listed under their profile. Just say where you got it.
Any pokemon that you did not acquire on your own (Trade, Gift, etc.) cannot be used in battle until you have acquired the appropriate number of badges:
1= Up to 20
2= Up to 30
3= Up to 40
4= Up to 50
5= Up to 60
6= Up to 70
7= Up to 80
8= All Pokemon.
Joining a user with high-leveled Pokémon to catch other high-leveled Pokémon far out of your level range that you'd normally be unable to battle is bad. Don't do it.
Be realistic while battling. Most Pokemon will not faint after one or two hits, especially in equal situations. Be reasonable.
Requesting certain mods/admins is fine, just don't spam them, and don't try and get them to give you a certain Pokémon. No one likes a suck-up.
Pokémon may not, under any circumstances, be turned into people or Pokémorphs.
Follow the three dodge rule. What does that mean? It means that you may dodge with your Pokémon or your character (if they get into a fight) three times before you have to let the next attack hit. This does not mean that you may constantly dodge three times in a row, though; use common sense when following this rule. Also, please note that this is per attack, not per turn.
Do not god mode, powerplay, auto-hit, or auto-kill when role playing. In essence, we mean that we don't want you to take control of another person's character. Roleplay attempts, not hits. It's up to the other person whether or not an attack hits, and vice versa. If it becomes an issue, take it up with them or an admin/mod.
Proper English is encouraged. No text speak.
Mature themes are acceptable on the Tarun forums. Acting out a sex scene is fine as long as you either omit the mature parts, or put a "Mature" tag in your thread title.
When a thread you are role playing in is finished, please put [F] or Finished or something indicating it's completed in the title so that the staff knows it's over and done with and may be moved to the Archive.
Requesting Pokémon is not allowed.
Pokémon recolors are not allowed. A moderater can give you a shiny, but there are no Pokémon re-colorations. I.E., shiny Metagross is silver instead of blue, there are no purple Metagross. You can, however, have visible accessories (scarves, hats, etc) on your Pokémon.
You may trade your characters' Pokémon but may not trade within your own characters.
Your character can't encounter or catch legendary Pokémon in their backgrounds..
Characters may not battle Pokémon by themselves, nor can a roleplayer attempt to control a Pokémon's actions. If either interfere, the encounter will be null and void.
Tarun follows the 6 Pokémon Rule. You may have up to 6 of your Pokémon on you, in or out of Pokéballs, at any given time. PC Storage is unlimited, and Pokémon may be switched out from any Pokémon Center.
As stated above, only authorized persons can control Wild Pokémon.
We don't recognize Natures and the system they follow, stats don't exist, and having a certain 'Nature' does not affect your Pokémon's fighting capabilities.
When your Pokémon is at a level where it can learn an attack or can evolve, then you may teach it that attack or have it evolve without anyone else's supervision.
Pokémon may only have four moves each.
Visit the boards in order. Top to bottom, Port Rupall (And the Pokémon lab) then Route 1, Zual Forest, etc. Like games, forums have a game play flow. Higher level Pokémon exist in farther along places, and we wouldn't want you to get hurt.
